The year is almost over, and we will be ringing in a new year soon enough. Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions? Do you make them?
I typically don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. I set goals for myself throughout the year, but I always felt that if I set them as a “new year’s resolution” then it just gave me an excuse to put it off and not act on it until January. If it’s November and I want to start eating healthier, then why not set that goal right then and there? Why wait until the new year starts to take action?
I do always make a vow to myself on January 1st to do everything in my power to try to make the current year even better than the last, which to me just means to live my life to the fullest I can and choose health and happiness. And I’ve been pretty good at doing that. The older I get, the more I learn that my choices make me who I am. It becomes easier to choose to be happy.
2016 was a great year. I got married, got to see my family a little more than normal, and posted more recipes. It seems hard to top this year, but I thought that of 2015. 2017 will be even better!
So whether you make New Year’s Resolutions or not, I challenge you to just make a simple vow to try to make next year better somehow, in whatever way you can.
Cheers to a Happy 2017!
