This Homemade Paleo Strawberry Jam is only made with all natural ingredients. No artificial sweeteners or processed sugar!
I have been sitting on this recipe for quite a while now, but kept forgetting to post it. David and I were grocery shopping and trying to find a jam or jelly with minimal ingredients that was still paleo, but we could not find one that didn’t have artificial sugar added or a bunch of preservatives. So I thought, why not make my own? That way, I know all of the ingredients that are going in it and can make sure it is all whole foods.
And you know what? It’s pretty simple. And it tastes better! I love making these. So for the next few days I will post the recipes for all of the paleo jams I have made. I like to put some on some paleo Base Culture bread (delicious) with a little bit of almond butter. Yum!
There is natural pectin from the lemon, but this might need to cook for a bit longer than regular jam to thicken.
- 2 cups strawberries stem removed and halved
- 1/4 cup honey
- juice from 1/2 lemon
In a sauce pan over medium heat, cook the strawberries for about 5 minutes, until they have started to break down and gel.
Add the honey and lemon and cook for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
Reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Remove from heat and place in a glass jar. Refrigerate and consume within 3 weeks.
