A while back, my mother-in-law gave us a T-fal Actifry that she had. I had never seen one before, but I was excited to try it. I love this thing! Especially now that I’m doing Whole 30, and I eat a lot of sweet potato fries.
I am not endorsed or paid by T-fal for this entry, this is just my honest review. 🙂
What it does: It’s a low-fat fryer and multi-cooker. You can cook various things using a lot less oil than you normally would. You can make a ton of fries using only a tablespoon of oil.
I love it mainly for sweet potato fries. I always had a hard time making perfect sweet potato fries because they can be tricky. I’d bake them, but they end up being too limpy or burnt. And I didn’t like frying them, and the couple of times I tried they ended up burnt.
Sweet potato fries are super easy in the Actify. All you have to do it peel and slice your sweet potatoes and place them into the Actifry,
And sprinkle with your seasonings and just a tablespoon of oil, and turn it on and set the timer for 40-45 minutes. The ceramic plate will spin and distribute the hot air, oil and seasoning evenly while it cooks:
When the time is up, you will have perfect, evenly seasoned sweet potato fries, that aren’t burnt or soggy!
You can use the Actifry for a variety of different foods, like vegetables, chicken wings, fajitas, risotto, and almost anything you can think of, and you and can find some recipes on their website. I love it because I don’t have to use too much oil, and it distributes the oil and seasonings evenly, so I never end up with over-oiled soggy fries or burnt fries.
I’ve also done veggies in the Actifry, and they were great. Overall, I would recommend it, especially if you love to make sweet potato fries a lot, like I do.
