I had received a few emails on Intermittent Fasting, and after reading this article over at Nerd Fitness and doing a little more research on it, I decided I’d like to give it a try, just to see how my body will react and if I can make any gains or losses from it. I told David that I would be trying this, and he said “You’re going to be grouchy the first week!”
I decided to do the Bulletproof Fast since I don’t think I can go the whole morning without some form of calories. The idea is to skip breakfast (except for a cup of Bulletproof Coffee if you are doing the Bulletproof fast), and start eating at lunch and eat your daily calories within a 6-8 hour window–like beginning at 2pm you start eating and have all your calories finished by 8pm.
This is my first day attempting this way of eating.
I’m hungry.
This intermittent fasting is hard for the first day, even with bulletproof coffee. I’m used to waking up hungry, and eating a big breakfast. Well, I still woke up hungry this morning, and after drinking my bulletproof coffee I am still hungry. Maybe I should say I’m “hangry?”
David might have been right, I might be a bit grouchy and slumpy the first week. I’ve felt like that this morning. It also doesn’t help that I left my glasses at home today and feel fuzzy without them. I’m not super irritable or upset or in a bad mood really, I’m just in that “morning grump” stage, still. I feel a little bit grumpy because I’m hungry, although I know in an hour it’ll pass (it always does for me). And I feel a little tired despite the coffee, but I think that may be due to the fact that I’m straining my eyes a little without my glasses.
But, as more time goes by and the more water I drink, the better I feel. So it might not be too bad. We’ll see how I feel later this week!
