I promise I will be posting more recipes soon, I will have a few fall and winter recipes to share, and I am excited about them.  Also, beginning this weekend, I will be making mini-loaves of my Paleo Chocolate-Chip Pumpkin Bread at a shop called D’Lites in North Austin and selling them.  So if you are in the area, come by and grab one!

The past few weeks have been busy..Halloween, drill and cats….

Halloween was fun.  It was our first Halloween in the house, and we were excited to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters.  No, we did not give out fruit or organic chocolates or paleo treats, because let’s face it–Halloween is all about the terrible, sugary candy and no one wants the healthier candies.  They probably would have wound up in the trash.

So we handed out the big candy bars, and cans of Sprite–which went over really well.  The kids loved our house.  We are now the cool house in the neighborhood that gives out big candy and soda on Halloween.

Oh, and I also got a new kitten.

Yep, that’s right, that would make it a total of three cats that we own now!

This little blue beauty is Daisy.  Remember when I talked about visiting the animal shelter in my Chicken Stuffed Acorn Squash entry? Well, while we were there we spotted this gorgeous girl.  She was adorable, and I immediately liked her.  And I really wanted a little girl.  She was too small then and wouldn’t be ready to go home for another few weeks.

A week later, I checked the website and she was there.  I sent the link to my fiance–in hopes that he would be overwhelmed with the cuteness of the photo and say “let’s get her, right meow.”

I got what I had hoped for, he said “If you to adopt her we can.” Squeee!!! So we weighed the pros and cons, and decided to go see her that weekend.

When we got there, we were told that she already had two applications in, and that they could only accept up to three.  I thought–well it wouldn’t hurt to try, and if we don’t get her then we will still be approved for another cat from them (if our application was approved) and we could find another little girl.

A few days later, after all of our references were called, I received a phone call saying that we had been approved for her.  I was so happy!

And last weekend, I returned home from a MUTA 6 drill to our baby girl.

How gorgeous is she?? We decided on the name Daisy because we felt it suited her.  Cute, delicate and pretty.  She’s our little flower.

Having a kitten is fun!  It’s been almost two years since I adopted Ludo when he was a kitten.  They grow so fast.  They’re so small and playful, and curious about everything.  She can run around like a little torpedo for hours.  She jumps around like a little jumping bean and chases her tail and plays with her reflection.

But when it’s time for bed, she is all purrs and snuggles. 🙂

We have her in the guest bedroom for now, until she gets comfortable and we can introduce her slowly to the boys.  Ludo seems to really want to play with her.  They will be supervised whenever they start interacting with each other.

I think she makes a nice little addition to our family, and I will enjoy watching her grow!
