Hello and welcome to Fit Happy Free! My name is Jordan and I am a girl living in Austin with my husband and three cats – Ludo, Wallowitz and Daisy. I love to cook, create recipes and share them with others.
Growing up, I struggled to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I battled with obesity, high cholesterol, binge-eating, compulsive overeating, bulimia, and anorexia. I tried every fad diet and pills and struggled with self-control. I was hospitalized twice in a treatment facility for eating disorders.
In 2012 I embarked on a running challenge in an effort to transform myself and become healthier. Throughout this process I learned how to embrace recovery and made a commitment to myself to keep my health first, before my weight. Throughout my struggles I eventually learned how to find balance and live a healthy lifestyle. My body isn’t perfect and is still physically recovering from damage done to it, but after embarking on a 30 day Paleo Challenge and a Whole 30 I found out what my body could and couldn’t tolerate, and now stick to a clean, mostly paleo diet. I am constantly working to be the healthiest and fittest me I can be, and am enjoying the process. The hard work is worth it. I have never felt better! I am Fit, Happy and Free.
My mission with this blog is to deliver useful content full of healthy, gluten-free and paleo-friendly recipes, insights on recovery, fitness-related material, and of course, cats! (That’s what the internet is for, right?)
